Curious - AC694 last night (15th Feb)

So AC694 (YYZ-YYT) flew to St John's before turning around and heading back to YYZ. We'd had a two day snowstorm but the airport was open by this point & other flights were landing.

Many annoyed pax on social media & reported here: http://vocm.com/news/stranded-passen...ck-to-toronto/ . What is curious is the airport going out of their way to say this was an AC issue rather than an airport one. i.e. the runway was open.

EF comments: (I didn't realise that I subscribed to this bit of the service): "FLIGHT R
ETURNED TO YYZ DUE TO YYT WEATHER AND RUNWAY CONCERNS". Oddly, 680 (A319) landed around the same time I think with no issue. 694 had been upgauged to a 763.

Certainly a difference in opinion between the airport & the airline & interesting to see the airport be so public about it.

(Note, I wasn't on the flight but followed the issue on Social Media)
