I'm planning a Maui trip with my wife and two young children... this place looks great for a family even in spite of the fact that it's not by the water. Last place I stayed in Maui was a condo by the beach and I have to admit that I enjoyed walking out the door and being on the sand right away. At least there's the shuttle, though.

Anyone care to comment on how the whole beach access thing worked out? Minor issue or major hassle?
