It has to be a competitive advantage type concern because there I think MSP<-->ANC is at least as long as a few of those and it's still BOB. Although that's a route where I found RU's to be more plentiful than you'd think after 3 years of monthly flights there.

Nonetheless, I'll take a few free meals when I can get them! Although none of those are really routes I'd fly. I wish that MSP <-->SFO/LAX was on that list but I actually love getting some stuff from Surdyk's to nosh on the flights.

I can literally remember when I first was out of college and had a project in Omaha and YX would serve breakfast on the MKE --> OMA outbound and dinner for me on the way back. I once had a meal with them on MKE <--> STL even, so even 17 years later, my expectations are maybe too high in this regard. But I don't mind BOB if I don't get upgraded, that's a fair compromise. It's the long flights where they don't do BOB that really get to me.
