My MUA upgrade was listed at "R-class Requested" because miles and copay were not properly deducted. 1K agent told me the reason for "R-class Requested" earlier this month. Once it was fixed, "Upgrade Requested" appeared. So, there is a major difference between the two phrases. If you do not want to risk the upgrade chance, it is better to fix it when you first see "R-class Requested."
With regard to the ability to be waitlisted for a particular inventory class (documented in
GG ONESTANDBY), I have to wonder if this is a difference between using the system to "request an upgrade" and an agent who tries to process this by manually using SHARES to add to the standby list with a WBR code or equivalent.
Now I'm quite curious how the system would treat the difference as there clearly is one to the backend if it displays two different things...
