Pet Health Certificate

First time traveling with a pet in the cabin. Will be relocating in a few months from Florida to Alaska and need to take our small (approximately 12 pound) dog onboard with us for the last stage of our move.

I've read the Delta requirements on fees, booking, etc. As well as the state of Alaska requirements for bringing dogs/cats into the state. Alaska government website says a health certificate dated within 30 days is required. No big deal.

Delta's website is not as clear. One page says to check with your destination state on if a health certificate is required and to follow their guidelines. Another says that if a health certificate is required in needs to be dated within 10 days. However that is found on a page that mainly talks about pets shipped as cargo, but does include a few references to in cabin travel.

I'm sure the simplest answer is to just call DL or make sure the vet visit is within 10 days of travel. Just curious what experiences others have had bringing a pet onboard.
