Thanks everyone, this was very helpful. Sounds like I will just stick with AA, or possibly switch to BAEC (will need to diligence that a little more). The most valuable benefit, to me, of a FFP is premium cabin award redemption. A close second would be the ability for some long haul upgrades from economy to biz - AA system wides still decently valuable.
