Thank you. I was using something similar, which I'd found through another thread, it had AA US/UK or AA Europe. The US/UK version went through the US site and had the payment problems, it may have worked if I'd cheated the address slightly as it seemed only related to the payment. I used the Europe link and that went through the German site. Incidentally the AA German site multi city tool rejected my trip as it said you can have no more than two legs on the same day, and no more than four cities total. My itinerary failed this test. I suspect the UK site has the same limitation but just doesn't report accurately why it's failing.
