This post is probably going to be one of the first to go against the grain, but I say yes, she should get her miles back.
I mean, I know when you're battling cancer, you forget things, especially the smaller things that aren't too important or on top of your radar. I believe in showing compassion and that people should be helped. It seems like she asked nicely, and AA should have been a bit more flexible. Is it really worth it saying "no" and facing bad press, than just eating the fee/whatever cost? I mean, ask for hospital papers/bills if needed.
IMHO, the world needs more compassion and care. Not saying everyone should get a free pass, but in cases like this... it just kind of makes sense. I'm not a fan of CE or his website, but this specific situation in question does tug at my heart a bit.
