I had the same issue for the best part of a year. No matter what they try to do at the airport, (when they don't just shrug it off), it just doesn't work. For a time it randomly didn't work, until it stopped working completely. It always worked on online BPs issued before OLCI actually opened (IB lets you check-in as soon as you book on most routes) and status was (most often) recognised in the booking, but as soon as it got transferred to the airport system it never showed Emerald/Sapphire again.
