Applied for AMEX Plat a couple weeks ago, approved instantly. Last week went to add 3 authorized users, mainly for lounge access and to help 2 twentysomethings build credit (daughter and her boyfriend, and my wife).

Got letter today saying they are all approved, however "the Additional Cared type that you requested on your application is invalid and unavailable for your Platinum Card. Because of that, we approved your application and have defaulted your selection for the appropriate Additional Card type that is applicable to your Platinum Card. We've mailed your approved Additional Cards."

I wonder what card types I'll get? If not platinum, don't think I even want them

And don't you love how the letter letting you know that an important item has been mailed always arrives well before the actual item??
