Left Luggage at T5 - Can I leave bags there and collect during a layover?
I have an itinerary coming up BOM-LHR-AMS-LHR-BOM.

I'll be stocking up on goodies in the UK to take back to India and I really don't want to lug two 23KG bags on the train around the Netherlands on a business trip.

Has anyone ever used the Left Luggage facility this way? I assume I would need to check in for only the AMS - LHR leg when returning from AMS. Then collect my bags and check in at T5?

It seems simple enough but i feel like I may be missing a detail or two....
