For what it's worth, Delta's problems winning over customers in JNU (I'm a native Juneau-ite) weren't just related to on-time performance (though that was a big part of it). Alaska just offers a much cushier deal for Alaskans. In fact, I don't know a single Juneau-ite who ever - I mean ever - flew Delta instead of Alaska. If you're an Alaska resident, and you're flying to or from Alaska, on Alaska, you get 2 free checked bags, regardless of status. So why fly Delta when you're going to have to pay $50 for those bags? Also, a lot of folks in Juneau are MVPs or MVP Golds; again, why fly Delta when you've got a much better chance of being upgraded on Alaska? Delta made no effort whatsoever to compete with these perks, and this, along with their constant delays and cancellations, led to them pulling out year round.
