I use the AS Android app on a Samsung Galaxy, but I have not noticed any problem accessing the waitlist within 24 hours of my flight.

Yesterday I did a SDC to a later flight using the app, but then did not see myself listed on the waitlist. I went through the check-in process for the new flight a second time, and - voila - my name was on the list.
