Yes, I am asking if both Canadair Jet and the A319 flights were available at the same time, why would anybody take the Canadair Jet flight, over the A319 flight. I would have surmised, as Empress suggested, that if the Canadair Jet flight was available first, then it would have sold out (first). The argument against that; the flights to New Orleans in May show only the A319 flight; I last took this flight for a similar conference 2 yrs ago - only the A319 flight available at that time. I would speculate that the Canadair Jet flight was the add-on, either for the convention and/or for the summer season.
So my question is that if both sets of flights are available for booking at the same time, have almost the times of departures, and the same prices for the same economy fares, why would the passenger pick the Canadair Jet. My speculative response - most to all passengers book through travel agents - the travel agent would pick the first flight (of the day) available - therefore, the seats on the Canadair Jet would be sold (out) first.
