We stayed here for three nights. The Courtyard is not the Oberoi Amarvilas, but for about one-sixth the price it's a great little hotel. Just about every staff member we met was wonderful, and we were amazed at how well we were treated as mere Gold MR members -- a suite upgrade, free breakfast, free cocktails and snacks in the bar, early checkin and late checkout, even two pieces of laundry per day. The food in the restaurant was wonderful, especially the Indian vegetarian dishes. The hotel is 2.0 kilometers from the East Gate of the Taj Mahal.
The only slight negative was that when we asked the front desk manager about transportation options to Jaipur, he said we could take a hotel car for about $200 and that we would not get a better rate from an outside tour/transport company. When we declined this offer he remembered that there was indeed an outside company to which he could refer us, and that a representative of that company happened to be in the lobby at that very moment. This man offered a rate of about $150. In the end we were able to find another company that provided a comfortable car with driver to Jaipur for $80. Again, however, with the exception of this one executive all the hotel representatives we met were very helpful. I've written a longer review on TripAdvisor.
