Too bad. It's a good hotel in a great location. Have stayed there annually for a conference for the last 3 years and HH would add the points (and bonuses) after I faxed them my folio, so the only HH bennie I didn't get was a free breakfast. I was going to be there again in July, but when I read this, I called the hotel, and yes, it is now the Portola Plaza Hotel. I also have a Marriott account (with no status) and they have a good property across the street, so I will book that. The Monterey Hilton is too far away to work for me as I want to walk to the conference, which is at the conference center that is attached to the hotel. Monterey is a beautiful place to go for a few days, especially if you play golf.
