General poll, a friend of mine is quite soon flying to BKK with AY silver status. The ticket he has is the ultimately expensive WhY-fare (something in the order of 3000+€, work trip naturally) and based on his queries, economy looks quite full (as one could imagine for HEL-BKK in Feb).
So, he naturally has already received the offers for upgrade but based on gut feeling, what would you see as his opup-changes given fare class, AY status and typical HEL-BKK Y-load?

I.e. should he just gamble and wait for opup or take the offers and fly in C.
