The "housing bureau" for the convention will be booking rooms, through to mid May. I would guess that the hotels take control of all rooms after that.

For now, the "housing bureau" has a waiting list of 35 names - I was the last one added on Friday. The hotel itself states that they do not keep a waiting list. I guess that after the "cutoff date" when the hotel takes over, the waiting list does not get forwarded to the hotel.

I can not tell you if the convention's housing bureau booked all the rooms in that, and many other hotels, in New Orleans - notwithstanding that - most 5 star hotels in New Orleans are "sold out" - according to the housing bureau, or according the hotel directly.
