The change in Haneda to a domestic flight is fairly painless. Just remember to fly to ITM instead of KIX if you are connecting via Haneda. Itami is far more convenient for Osaka than Kansai International.

I would probably go for the direct LAX-KIX, just for the convenience of one less connection. And thus probably shorter travel time.
