I've stayed lodge concierge and was more than happy with my room and my view. The walk from Sugar Loaf is minimal.....you're talking about 3-4 mins more tops. The concierge area is located in it's own building and you need to swipe your key to get in. You have all the benefits of the concierge making your reservations, preplanning etc. that you would get in the main building. Lounge service does stop earlier (I think around 7-7.15) than main building.
If you want a Magic Kingdom view and you want to stay concierge, you'll have to stay in the main building. If you want wine and cordials, you'll also have to stay main building.
For me, I would only stay main building if money was no object. It's nice, and I can see why people stay there, but really, the extra $$ adds up to quite a bit of room service should I require a glass of wine, a dessert or a cordial.
