It looks like changing flight schedules is the #1 hobby of MH. Purchased just less than 2 weeks ago a ticket and now 2 weeks before the flight, I receive an email that the schedule of my flight has changed.

Since it's from MYY-KUL, they moved it 2 hours out, which gives me just slightly over an hour to connect to my next flight (on a separate ticket). However that's not the point as I had planned to meet up with a friend before that at the airport.

Tried to ask them to reroute me via LBU getting me about 30 mins later (but still in time to quickly meet up with a friend at the airport), and it has been a nightmare (was told not possible because it involves MASWings for the MYY-LBU sector which it seems is a whole totally different department).

Anyway, after being one the phone for 1 hour, I have asked them to call me back with a solution.

If it was not because of trying to be loyal to OW, I would have just gone with Malindo. Really do not understand when will all these schedule changing activity stop.

Cheers!
They actually can help you to re-route you on maswings if they really really want to but I suspect a number of factors come into play with the booking system and costings/etc.

I have found some MH ticketing/customer service staff to be really really good and honest and helpful in suggesting changes to help get you on the flight you need...without costing you more. In this case, it does not seem they want to help.

I would consistently argue you want the 2 hour window to ensure you do not miss your connecting flight and because you do not want your bag to miss your connecting flight and be left behind if for some reason your first connecting flight is delayed, which can happen.
