They did that at one of my T-Mobiles too, they didn't remove them entirely, they're in a drawer facing you that they open when its time to pay. They probably just did this to "clean up the counter"...

Now they also stated that they're going to move to the iPad minis entirely with the Ingenico iSMP terminals...which the same T-Mobile near me also has.
