I've travelled on BA a lot less in the past year (and dropped down to a SCH at the same time) but I've kept very much up-to-date with the BA forum. In that time there's been a significant volume of negativity and criticism of the company or the BAEC, a lot of which is probably quite justified.
However, as many people seem to think it's OK to write new posts with long tedious rants, I wanted to provide a small antidote of positivity to the forum

^
- I called the BA silver line yesterday at 4pm. Got immediately through to a friendly British call centre with no tedious waiting around.
- They split my RFS redemption booking and cancelled my partner's flight as she now can't travel. Quickly completed, Avios refunded and no request for the 'remainder of the cost'. (I'm sure you all know what I'm referring to)
- Talking specifically of the flight, I have a CE booking that's cost me the same amount of Avios as I'd receive for a WT+ flight to the U.S. (i.e. not much) plus a bit of cash. For that, I'll get plenty of room and a meal for a 2hr flight, after having been through Priority security, the Lounge for a few drinks and boarded first (regardless of Silver card).
- And a cash fare in Economy would've cost me >£200 thanks to the flights being all booked up for a Champions League match that night.
All in all, I get a lot of pleasure and enjoyment from using the BAEC, and I find their website and Customer Services much better than a lot of their competitors (even if it's not all of them).
Just wanted newcomers to know that we're not all fed-up and hateful on here!
(Disclaimer: Make no mistake, I am still annoyed that I won't be getting G&T's in Economy any more - this doesn't change that!)
