Insist that you have a reservation for $59/night at the front desk, but you can't find the confirmation. When they say they can't help you, throw a tantrum. When they still can't help you, change into your night clothes and wander around the lobby, lay on a couch, etc. You will either get a room in the hotel or a free night at another local institution.
