Hyatt Place FLL 17th Street tried to pull this on me
I still cannot believe what Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale 17th Street Conv Ctr tired to pull on me. I booked 3 nights mid-week on points (this hotel gets a lot of cruise traffic, but that happens on weekends AFAIK), 1 king bed. Checked in at 4:30 PM and when I got to the room, it had 2 queen beds. Called the "host", she said "we gave you a 2 queen room because the only king room available is on the first floor near the kitchen and ice machine". At this point I reminded her I was Hyatt Platinum. She comes back and said they are going to give me a room from the airlines' inventory (?!?). In the end I got a king room on a high floor, but had I not had elite status, I would have been stuck with 2 queens or the kitchen.
This hotel must not like me or my points bookings because last year they gave me a room near the elevator where there is tile, not carpet, and people with suitcases make a loud noise every time they pass.
I am over-reacting by being outraged by this behavior?
