Please tell me you are kidding? Rightly or wrongly these people are concerned about their jobs, their family and their livelihood, and you are worrying about what - whether you can sleep and eat at the Fairmont?? Sometimes the mindset of people on this board amazes me, but i still believe socialism is not a dirty word!
I am not the greatest supporter of unions, but as someone whose grandfather was out during the 1926 General Strike in England, and who was later killed in a privately owned coal mine with no regard for anything other than making money, I do believe there is more to life than profit, and that some things are of far greater value.
Ferrari - you lived through the Thatcher years in Britain and witnessed what she did to the miners, in ripping the soul and spirit out of proud communities and destroying much of what was great about Britain. Please tell me you do not think they were tossers too???
