Excellent question, thank you for asking.

There are some excellent foie gras producers in Argentina, making very small quantities of exquisite quality product. The stuff is expensive, with prices similar to what you would pay in France for comparable quality material. If you can get away from the perceived value bubble associated to product labeling and dare to to a blind taste, you will be pleasantly surprised.

One of the producers is Cabanias del Fin del Mundo, another is associated to Ahumaderos Familia Weiss... and there are a couple of others I need to dig up for you. The best stuff is made in the region of Patagonia, although there is one producer in the province of Buenos Aires that makes heavenly stuff.
