I don't know so certain but I wouldn't be too concerned that your avios would magically disappear. When you disband the HH account you get to choose how to split any avios balance. They might apply the same split to the refund, or they might refund them to your wife, it being her booking, or you might have to discuss it and decide when you cancel.
Note that if you do cancel, the voucher won't be returned.
