Be aware of the "war" between Uber drivers and taxi drivers. Many hotels will not allow Uber vehicles into their property. As a recent post told how it took 4 Uber orders at the airport to get 1 ride.
I do use Uber in Bali, but please be aware of the challenges involved.
I do agree that at the airport the lack of access for Uber drivers makes things difficult. On my last trip I gave up on the Uber and took a regular taxi (after challenging the price of course).
I also agree that the "war" is evident, but in my view they are all trying to make a living, and I support the Uber drivers regularly because it also happens to result in lower fares for me. Same goes for the property access, I always arranged pick-up and drop off on the street rather than on the hotel property.
Apart from that I stick to my opinion. MY Uber experiences were all positive. YMMV of course.
