I have ZERO desire to do business with AA at all - and zero interest in the purchase of status at any price. OK, well maybe for $10 or less I'd bite.... But, I really don't plan on flying AA anymore, so if that holds, the $10 would be a waste.
If I fly them, I'll probably buy Biz or First. Usually, better airlines offer same or lower fares for the routes I'm interested in.
I got the same offer, seems like a standard offer for those who don't fly AA much.
I tried AA after being disappointed in UA, qualified for Platinum through status challenge in 2015. Still have no idea what that status is good for - no lounge access, no upgrades, no E+. What little experience I had with AA and their partners (looking at you, Finnair
) was uniformly poor, so back to UA & partners I went. Flew 0 miles on AA in 2016.
