It is somewhat of a grey area, not covered by the rules. Perhaps you should've discussed this issue with the hotel prior to getting walked, but most likely it's not too late. Based on several prior posts on FT, I believe that working with the hotel that walked you will be necessary to get your credit. If front desk folks aren't helpful, ask to speak with the manager.
