If I was the OP, I would have hung up, then called back the Front Desk confirming if the phone call were made. Next step, I would probably request that security or possibly police be called to take care of and remove the drunks. Under no circumstance would I ever open my hotel room door to anybody after midnight, unless I was expecting someone, if there was a fire alarm or a front desk employee could identify themselves in advance.

If any Hotel Front Desk ever called me and talked to me like that, I would be throwing fits left and right, speaking to anybody that could identify themselves as a manager only, and possibly asking to vacate the premises the next morning regardless.
