As a result of the very useful insight provided on this board (particularly from
orbitmic) I had planned for the dubious pleasure of bringing a ‘packed lunch’ onboard our BA207 LHR-MIA F flight at the beginning of March. (The general view was that the main meal served on this flight was breakfast, despite it being a 9 hour flight departing at 9am).
I was more than a little surprised when I logged on to MMB this morning. Under the ‘Order in-flight Meals’ section I am presented with a choice of 5 main courses of lunch/dinner

:-
Seared fillet of Aberdeen Angus beef with braised beef cheek, chervil and shallot rosti potato, burnt butter parsley root puree, tenderstem broccoli and red wine jus
Seared fillet of pan fried hake, orzo pasta, Noilly Prat and coriander nage with spring vegetables
Wild venison Wellington with fondant potato, celeriac purée and sloe gin jus
Double baked Shropshire blue Cheese soufflé with candied chantenay carrots, chargrilled pear, caramelised walnuts and herb cream sauce
Main course salad of ginger and soy tiger prawns with chilled stir fry salad, glass noodles, sesame and soy dressing
So, what is going on ? …
- the learned FT posters are sadly mistaken in their original insight (very highly unlikely !!)
- BA have reacted to the negative comments regarding the ‘breakfast main meal’ on BA207 and reinstated a ‘proper’ meal. (even more unlikely ??)
- I have misread what is on the screen in front of me (yes – possible !)
- this is a system error and I am still going to be presented with a breakfast when we fly BA207 in a few weeks time (I do hope not, but this is the most likely explanation)
Has anyone flown BA207 – maybe in F – recently ? If so what meal were you served – a lunch dish, or breakfast ?
In the meantime I still plan to bring on board the ‘contingency plan lunch’ from Pret's !!
Any further thoughts please ?
Thank you
