"While I agree with you that you should be able to get credit for the flight, if you look at the wording in some of the oneworld literature it imiplies that benefits - including mileage/SC accrual - is only applicable to flights operated AND marketed by a oneworld carrier. Technically, both JL & AA could say no to giving you credit on your QF account as the flight was an AA codshare operated by JL with no relationship to QF at all. The same arugument against an AAdvantage member could be used on a QF codeshare operated by JL where there is no connection to AA."
For mileage earning on QF what matters is what it says in the Qantas Terms And Conditions not what OW terms are. The OW terms relate to such things as Lounge access et al.
For mileage earning on AA it states in the QF Ts&Cs that the following are ineligable
"American Airlines®: Codeshare flights operated by Singapore Airlines; Discounted fares booked in E, L, O, Q, R, T, U, W, X and Z class. Fares booked in G, M, N, S, and V class will earn 50% of the base economy accrual rate. This will become your base economy accrual rate for the purpose of awarding a Status bonus."
As can be seen , codeshares on JL are not excluded so are eligable for mileage earning ( as long as not in an ineligable booking class )
If you were accruing mileage to AAdvantage, what would be relevant is AAs Ts&Cs related to QF travel
