While I agree with you that you should be able to get credit for the flight, if you look at the wording in some of the oneworld literature it imiplies that benefits - including mileage/SC accrual - is only applicable to flights operated AND marketed by a oneworld carrier. Technically, both JL & AA could say no to giving you credit on your QF account as the flight was an AA codshare operated by JL with no relationship to QF at all. The same arugument against an AAdvantage member could be used on a QF codeshare operated by JL where there is no connection to AA.

Sometime ago, I had asked AA about EQM on a QF codeshare flight operated by FJ - they said no dice. I could get miles (though not EQM), so long as it was ticketed as an FJ flight. No EQM or miles would be given by using the QF flight number. I don't think the JL system is coded to figure out all the exceptions to FF eligibility, so perhaps that's why you got the credit.
