I am sure that you are right, but I don't think that Continental was coming to the UK then? AA had their DFW flight and Delta was there as well.
Wikipedia says CO started to fly EWR-LGW after taking acquiring the route through their merger with People Express in 1987. I somehow doubt that they inherited a snazzy lounge from People Express though.
