On a few occasions I've had a FA ask me for my choice, other times the FA just placed all the meals on a trolley and went front-to-back.

As Jasper, folkart and I flew AC 3 together, I recall the trolley for the second service. There were 2 types of chicken among the 3 choices, IIRC.
On AC 15, the second meal is breakfast, served approx 75-90 minutes before arriving in HKG (middle of the afternoon local time). The cold tray is served from the full food cart and the hot dishes are brought out from the galley.
