The words you need for Amazon / eBay are "steel keychain". Given the mess you sometimes see being swept from underneath the security belts at T5, I'm not sure that's foolproof either, any amount of plastic ends up there.
Our 'steel wire' ones are coping well. Cost £0.89 direct through Amazon, including p&p from HK ....
