No significance. It is just a randomised collection of numbers and letters. They rotate every few months from the available collection. I've had the same PNR allocated to me for 2 completely different flights, after a 7 year time gap.....
That's spooky - I had to cancel a trip just before christmas and when I typed in the PNR in to Outlook to get the e-Ticket two e-Tickets appeared in my search results: one to SYD in January 2017 and one to LAX in October 2009! What are the odds of that? Pity it wasn't the lottery
