Not perche but for breakfast (at a hotel) I often ask for a doppio espresso, tazza grande, latte caldo a parte for a double espresso in a large cup with hot milk on the side. In a regular coffee bar a doppio is sort of an odd thing to ask for, and it's probably easier for them to keep serving you singles. And to slightly add to perche's bit above, the opposite of a lungo is a ristretto, with a little less water than usual (more concentrated).
