Continental tabbed as top North American carrier

Continental has been rated the No. 1 airline in North America and No. 2 trans-Atlantic carrier. That's according to a survey by Skytrax Research of London, which received responses from over 10 million travelers of 92 nationalities between June 2003 and March 2004. In the global "Airline of the Year" category, Continental ranked No. 9; no other U.S. airline and only one European carrier (British Airways) made the top 10. In the North America rankings, JetBlue placed second behind Continental, while American was No. 3. As for discounters, JetBlue was named the world's top carrier, with Virgin Atlantic and Southwest holding down the next two spots. The complete results are available at the SkyTrax Web site.
