I'm a relative newbie to Starwood and generally find their rates (in Europe, Asia) to be quite high compared to similar properties at Hilton, for instance.

One problem is that very often Starwood offers no meaningful discounts for AARP or Automobile Clubs, whereas Hilton does almost across the board.

Are there any other universally available (i.e. non-Corporate) discounts or tricks that I may be missing out at Starwood?
