The BC75XLT is slightly newer, but they are very similar. The 125AT adds room for more channels, and the ability to add alphanumeric tags to your channels. For the slim price difference, I would go with the BC125AT (that is what I have).

Keep in mind, that both of these are simple analog only. Not sure what you want to use it for, but many local police and fire departments are going to trunked systems that these won't pick up. You can check your area if that is of interest to you.

Also, again, depending upon usage, an upgraded antenna will get you better reception on these.

I do like mine, as it suits my purposes. Make sure it suits yours.
