I'd go after LG for EU261 anyway, arguing that the requirement is to inform you. Sue them in court if necessary. Send an email to the CEO telling them what a crap airline they are. The inflexibility is ridiculous - extremely poor customer service.

I agree that TP did nothing wrong, so not much recourse there.
