I'm not sure you even need to 'leave for a night'. Why not just check-out at, say, 11:55AM and check-in again at, say, 12:05PM? With the agreement of management you could even do so without removing everything from your room.

Mrs PtF and I stay long-term in a Hilton-managed apartment; with the full agreement and cooperation of management we get round this restriction by just swapping the name on the reservation every few months (as we approach the 100,000 base points limit).
