Good luck with the switch, but until recently, SQ would block I (J) awards to Mileage Plus on their non-regional configured aircraft - so no dice for A380 and the 777s with the intercontinental (as opposed to regional, if any still exist) J seats. Please report back if you're able to make the switch.
