Of course, now they're going to expand it to something like 24 lanes total, but that won't be done until 2012 or something. Just in time for it to be a wholly inadequate number of lanes for all the traffic. Again.
As a followup, I asked my Mom what she thought of this one (parents lived in Katy before I was born). From her immediate groans, it was obvious that this was a horrible stretch of highway even 20 years ago.
