Yea the North American system is very weird. I have asked multiple BR employees and they say that in TPE, they have a call center that picks up these out of country calls from North America and Europe only when the board is flooded with calls. The way they do it is all the calls are routed to one main board and as each station(JFK, TPE, SFO, LAX etc.) frees up a rep from the previous call, they will pick the next call up. Its very dumb. The SFO ones are terrible, the TPE one is pretty good, the LAX one makes me want to throw the phone at the person.

The good thing is that as Diamond, I get to cut everyone in line when I use the FFP options. I have heard from many that sometimes they are so overloaded with calls, they will tell you to call back later.
