On the other hand, if you can use the subscription (or know someone who can) the subscriptions cost much more than $5.
I use the award to renew/extend my subscription to Conde Nast
Traveler, a great magazine for a frequent flyer, and even when the subscriptions are on sale or discount, they run $12 to $14 for 12 issues.
