You can transit for 24 hours as long as continuing on to another country or SAR then that you came from. However you're required to get the transit visa issued upon arrival. They don't just stamp your passport and you're through. Same with 72/144hr transit visa.

only time you don't get a visa is if they are nice and just give you a temporary entry permit. However they generally only give those out when there's IRROPS with the carriers.
